Day 1 Camp Grades 7–9 (January 28, 2026)

Day 1 Camp Grades 7–9 (January 28, 2026) On January 28, 2026, Ban Cham Kho School held the first day of the PC English Camp 2026, hosted by Kruu Bee and Kruu Oliver, with support from Peace Corps volunteers Lilly, Oliver, Garrett, and Gretchen, as well as Kruu Kat, who came to assist with camp activities. The first day of the camp focused on Grade 7–9 students and centered on the theme “Be a Tour Guide.” The objective of the day was to help students develop confidence in speaking English, improve teamwork, and apply English in practical, real-world tourism contexts. Students rotated through a series of activity stations, including map fill and memorization challenges, landmark reading and matching exercises, and menu-based math activities that required students to read, calculate, and communicate in English. These activities encouraged problem-solving, collaboration, and functional language use. In the afternoon session, students worked in groups to plan and create tour guide posters. Each group then delivered a short presentation introducing their chosen destination, transportation methods, food, weather, and travel tips. The activities successfully encouraged students to speak more confidently and support one another throughout the presentations. Overall, the goals and objectives of the day were successfully met, as students demonstrated strong participation, increased confidence, and enthusiasm when using English in communicative tasks.
